Over the summer I saw a performance at the Western Front. The audience was sitting in a circle along the perimeter of the room while this fat man proceeded to give audience members piggyback rides around the room. Before each ride, he would ask the participant's name, and add that name to a list of names that he would recite before and after each ride. The performance ended when everyone in the room who wanted a ride had gotten one. I was encouraged to take a ride, but I refused. Mostly because I thought the whole thing was retarded and un-artistic. If there was a metaphor or allegory to be found, I missed it.
